Dr. Moaiyad Pacha
Consultant Specialist Orthodontist. DDS, MSc, PhD, F.Orth RCS (Eng), M.Orth RCS (Edin), FHEA. Practising at Manhal Medical Center, Al Safa 1, Dubai, in English and Arabic.

Dr. Moaiyad Pacha is a Consultant Specialist Orthodontist with more than fifteen years of clinical practice across the United Kingdom and the Middle East. He now practises in Dubai, at Manhal Medical Center in Al Safa 1.
His clinical interest is in the group of problems where the teeth are only part of the picture: temporomandibular joint disorders, transverse deficiency of the upper jaw in patients too old for conventional expansion, and malocclusions that sit alongside disturbed nasal breathing or diagnosed sleep-disordered breathing. These cases are the reason the practice invests in three-dimensional records and in working alongside sleep physicians, ENT surgeons and speech and language therapists.

Clinical philosophy
Straightening teeth is the easy part. The question worth asking first is whether the jaws, the joint and the airway are where they should be — because an alignment that ignores those can look correct and function poorly.
Dr. Moaiyad Pacha, Consultant Specialist Orthodontist
In practice this means the diagnosis comes before the appliance; that imaging is taken to answer a question rather than as a routine; that the limits of orthodontics are stated as clearly as its capabilities; and that a patient whose problem is medical, nasal or surgical is referred rather than treated around.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a specialist orthodontist and a dentist who does orthodontics?
A specialist orthodontist has completed several years of full-time postgraduate training in orthodontics after qualifying in dentistry, and is registered on a specialist list. Dr. Pacha holds specialist registration with the UK General Dental Council, has passed the specialist examinations of two Royal Colleges, and has completed a clinical PhD in the field. A general dentist providing orthodontics has not completed that training pathway, which matters most in complex, skeletal and previously-treated cases.
Where in Dubai does Dr. Pacha practise?
At Manhal Medical Center, Al Safa 1, Dubai. Al Safa 1 sits between Al Wasl Road and Sheikh Zayed Road, within a few minutes of Jumeirah, Umm Suqeim and Al Wasl, and a short run from Downtown Dubai, Business Bay and DIFC. Patients also travel in from Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and the northern emirates.
Does Dr. Pacha treat children?
Yes. Children's orthodontics is a substantial part of the practice, particularly growth-timed treatment, expansion and cases where mouth breathing or facial growth is a concern. A first assessment around age seven to eight is reasonable; that assessment often concludes that monitoring, rather than treatment, is what is indicated.
In what languages does Dr. Pacha consult?
English and Arabic. Clinical explanations, consent discussions and written treatment plans are available in either language.
