What specialist orthodontics means here

Dubai has no shortage of orthodontic providers. What distinguishes a specialist practice is not the appliances on offer — most clinics can fit braces and aligners — but the range of problems that can be diagnosed and the willingness to say when an appliance is not the answer.

Dr. Pacha's practice is built around four groups of patients: those with temporomandibular joint symptoms, those with a narrow upper jaw who are past the age of conventional expansion, those whose bite sits alongside disturbed breathing, and those with straightforward alignment needs who want the plan made by a specialist. The first three depend on three-dimensional records and, frequently, on other clinicians.

Who the clinic is set up for

Adults considering treatment for the first time

Adult bone, gum condition and existing dental work all change what is achievable and how quickly. Adult plans are built around those constraints, not around a standard course length.

Adults who have had orthodontics before

Relapse, incomplete correction, root resorption and retained retainers are common reasons for a second opinion. Retreatment planning starts by understanding what happened the first time.

Children and teenagers

Growth is a resource with a deadline. Some problems are far easier to correct at ten than at twenty; others are best left until the permanent dentition is complete.

Patients referred by other clinicians

Dentists, ENT surgeons, sleep physicians and speech and language therapists refer patients here for an orthodontic opinion on a specific question, with the findings reported back.

A meaningful proportion of the practice travels in. Appointment scheduling can be adjusted for that: records and consultation combined into one visit, longer adjustment intervals where the mechanics allow, and remote review of progress photographs between visits where appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

How much does orthodontic treatment cost in Dubai?

Fees depend entirely on the diagnosis, the appliance system and the length of treatment, and cannot honestly be quoted before an examination. What can be said in advance is what the consultation itself costs and what it includes. Call +971 4 328 4560 and the clinic will tell you before you book.

Do I need a referral to see an orthodontist in Dubai?

No. You can book directly. If you were referred by a dentist, ENT surgeon or sleep physician, bring the referral and any imaging with you — it saves repeating records and lets the findings be reported back to them.

Is treatment covered by UAE health insurance?

Coverage for orthodontics varies widely between UAE policies, and many exclude it or cover it only for defined medical indications. Check the terms of your own policy directly with your insurer; the clinic can provide the documentation an insurer asks for but cannot determine your entitlement.

How often will I need to come in?

Typically every six to ten weeks during active treatment, though this depends on the appliance. Some phases — the daily activation period of a MARPE expander, for instance — need closer supervision; others allow longer gaps, which is useful for patients travelling from outside Dubai.
